Morning Watch
This hymn is about worshiping and praising the Lord in the dark of night as well as welcoming the morning with Him. Although daytime is to be treasured, staying watchful in prayer at night and awaiting dawn with the Lord are amazing ways for today’s Christians to enjoy His special presence and overcome dark times.
“I prevented the dawning of the morning, and cried: I hoped in Thy word. Mine eyes prevent the night watches, that I might meditate in Thy word. Hear my voice according unto Thy lovingkindness: O Lord, quicken me according to Thy judgment.” (Psalms 119:147-149)
“It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is Thy faithfulness. The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in Him.” (Lam 3:22-24)
