You Shine On Me

This hymn describes the genuine process of a prayer. When we surrender before the Lord, we receive His shining light to cleanse, heal, renew, and supply us. It is then that He is able to guide us and bring us forward while filling our eyes and our hearts with His glory.

Re Surrender:
"My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways." (Proverbs 23:26)

"Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up." (James 4:10)

Re Shine:
"The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee." (Numbers 6:25)

Re "I am not worthy":
"I am not worthy of the least of all the mercies, and of all the truth, which thou hast shewed unto thy servant; for with my staff I passed over this Jordan; and now I am become two bands." (Genesis 32:10 )

Re "From darkness into light":
"For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light." (Ephesians 5:8)

"The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwelt in a land of deep darkness, on them has light shined." (Isaiah 9:2)

Re "Hidden sins":
"But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness nor handling the word of God deceitfully, but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God." (2 Corinthians 4:2)

"Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then each one’s praise will come from God." (1 Corinthians 4:5)

Re "Cleansed me":
"Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time." (1 Timothy 2:6)

"Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin." (Psalms 51:2)

"As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him." (John 17:2)

Re Guide:
"To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace." (Luke 1:79)

Re Throne:
"And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne." (Revelation 4:2)

Re Kingdom:
"Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." (Matthew 6:10)

Lyrics

YOU SHINE ON ME

O Lord
As I surrender
Your light shines through me
I am not worthy

From darkness into light
My hidden sins are revealed to me

O Lord, I give You glory
You gave Your body,
You have cleansed me

And I shall praise You, Lord
As You reign on me with authority

Impart Your life divine
Filling me up,
As You shine.
Overcome darkness and death,
Lord, heal my heart,
Guide me to follow You

Behold,
You’re on the throne
My glorious Savior
My precious Lord

O how Your Kingdom shines!
My heart’s desire
I praise You, Lord.

O how Your Kingdom shines!
My heart’s desire
I praise You, Lord!
