  1. Hosanna

From the recording My Treasure

This song describes the scene where Jesus was being praised by his people whilst entering the city of Jerusalem. Instead of riding on a massive steed, our great Savior sat upon a donkey’s colt as children cheered. At the end of the road in Jerusalem, he went to the cross and died for us. This is Jesus, so humble and tender, and accessible to all men and women. He truly deserves mankind’s highest love and respect.

"Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion!
Shout, Daughter Jerusalem!
See, your king comes to you,
righteous and victorious,
lowly and riding on a donkey,
on a colt, the foal of a donkey." (Zechariah 9:9)

"The disciples went and did as Jesus had instructed them. 7 They brought the donkey and the colt and placed their cloaks on them for Jesus to sit on. 8 A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. 9 The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted,

'Hosanna to the Son of David!'
'Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!'
'Hosanna in the highest heaven!'" (Matthew 21:6-9)

Lyrics

HOSANNA

Hosanna! Hosanna!
Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!

Hosanna! Hosanna!
Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!
Welcome our King!
He’s Christ, the Lord of all!

Behold, daughter of Zion, your King is coming to you!
Righteous and victorious
Yet so humble
Riding on a donkey, a donkey’s colt.
Gentle and tender
Meek and lowly
He’s my Lord, My King!
Let’s spread our garments on the donkey
and on the road
to honor Him

Rejoice!
Daughter of Zion
Don’t be afraid
Behold, your King
On a donkey
Coming to you!

Hosanna! Hosanna!
Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!

Hosanna! Hosanna!
Hosanna! Hosanna!
